Again, as expected we get great CLV from the jump on this play. It's down to +104 on FD and -110 or worse everywhere else.
**Betting Pick: C.J. Stroud Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns vs. MIA**
C.J. Stroud has been inconsistent this season, staying under 1.5 passing touchdowns in 69% of games while averaging just 1.2 passing TDs per game. However, coming off a bye and playing at home against a high-powered Dolphins offense, this could be the perfect spot for Stroud to bounce back.
Stroud’s home/road splits suggest he performs much better in Houston. This season, he’s averaging 283.3 passing yards per game at home with a 91.9 passer rating and a 65.4% completion rate, compared to just 202.4 yards, an 83.8 passer rating, and a 61.0% completion rate on the road. These splits mirror his 2023 season, where he was significantly more productive at home.
The Dolphins' offense has been on fire, scoring 30+ points in four straight games. If Miami gets out to an early lead, Houston may need to lean heavily on the passing game to keep up. Even though the Texans’ defense has been solid, Miami’s explosive offense could force a more aggressive game plan from Stroud and the Texans' passing attack.
Given Stroud’s improved home performance and the likelihood of a pass-heavy game script, the over on 1.5 passing touchdowns feels like a strong play in a potential shootout at this price.
