How Prediction Markets at Crypto.com Work

With a prediction market app like Crypto.com, you’re essentially trading on a Yes/No outcome for events like price moves or sports results. The price of a contract (ranging from $0.01 to $0.99) represents the market's perceived probability of that event happening.

Correct contracts settle at $1. So if you buy a contract for $0.60 and you’re right, it settles at $1.00, giving you a $0.40 profit. If you’re wrong, it goes to $0, and you lose your initial investment.

You don’t have to wait for the event to end to sell a contract. If your "Yes" contract rises from $0.40 to $0.70 because the event looks more likely, you can sell out early to lock in that $0.30 gain. Conversely, you can sell early to recoup some cash if the trade goes against you. Your risk is strictly capped at what you paid, and your profit is the difference between your entry price and the exit (or settlement) price.

Crypto.com Event Contracts: Trade on Sports & Everything In Between

Crypto.com's prediction market offers event contracts on everything from sports to politics. Here's a closer look on what you can trade on at Crypto.com:

Sports

From football, basketball, hockey, to baseball, you can buy and sell positions on:

Thanks to these sports events contracts and its wider availability, Crypto.com serves as a good alternative to the best online sportsbooks.

Financials

Considering Crypto.com's original focus, it makes sense that it offers prediction markets for finance topics. You can trade on the price of individual commodities such as gold and oil and other market-specific outcomes.

Politics

Crypto.com offers several event contracts related to politics. You can trade on election outcomes, government shutdowns, and other events. With politics being such a hot topic in general, event contracts are related to global, national, and even local happenings.

Economics

Economic event contracts at Crypto.com tend to focus on larger macroeconomic indicators—think inflation rates, employment figures, etc.

Culture

Crypto.com plans to roll out with prediction markets related to culture. We expect to see markets related to trending topics such as Taylor Swift, reality TV, etc.

Crypto.com Banking Options

Crypto.com lets you make deposits via cryptocurrency or USD, with over 400+ cryptocurrencies being compatible. You can instantly convert your favorite coins to USD, making it easy to trade event contracts.

The minimum deposit is $10, and you'll receive a set payment for each profitable contract you own after resolution. Keep in mind that the average payout time is one business day after the event settles.

Crypto.com Trading Fees

Crypto.com's fee structure for event contracts is based on the total value of the contract.

For $1 contracts, you pay a flat $0.02 exchange fee per side when opening or closing a position early, but all fees are waived if you hold until a correct settlement. No technology fee applies to $1 contracts.

For $10 contracts, the costs are higher: you pay $0.20 total ($0.10 Exchange Fee + $0.10 Technology Fee) to open or close a trade.

If you hold a $10 contract to a winning finish, the Technology Fee is waived, leaving only a $0.10 charge.

Notably, if your prediction is incorrect and the position settles "out-of-the-money," the platform charges no fees at all, ensuring you only lose your initial investment.

Crypto.com Security for Prediction Markets

Prediction markets at Crypto.com operate through Crypto.com | Derivatives North America (CDNA), a subsidiary registered with the CFTC as a Designated Contract Market (DCM) and Derivatives Clearing Organization (DCO).

Event contract trading at Crypto.com is federally regulated in the U.S., providing a layer of institutional oversight that decentralized platforms lack. Instead of using blockchain oracles (like Chainlink) or peer-to-peer code to settle trades, Crypto.com acts as the central intermediary that verifies event outcomes and manages the "clearing" of all trades to ensure every winner gets paid.

From a security standpoint, the "10/10" protection relies on traditional financial safeguards rather than just "code is law." Because it is a custodial service, Crypto.com holds your funds in regulated accounts, and access is protected by standard institutional measures like mandatory KYC (identity verification) and Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). This structure is designed to offer U.S. traders a compliant, legal way to trade on sports, politics, and economics without the technical risks or "gray area" legal status often associated with decentralized alternatives.

Crypto.com In the News

Crypto.com has been all over the place regarding its foray into prediction markets. Here's a look at some key events:

  • In October 2025, CDNA (Crypto.com Derivatives North America) announced that it will embed prediction markets into Trump Media and Technology Group's Truth Social Platform, per a press release. Powered by Crypto.com's technology, the product will be called Truth Predict.
  • Crypto.com has a partnership with Fanatics Sportsbook, which allowed the rollout of Fanatics Markets in December 2025. This prediction market app offers everything from sports and politics to pop culture contracts.
  • Crypto.com also partnered with Hollywood.com to offer prediction markets. These trades will zero-in on entertainment, pop culture, celeb gossip, etc.
  • In February 2026, Crypto.com launched a standalone prediction market platform called OG.com.

Responsible Trading at Crypto.com

Because of trading's similar nature to gambling, Crypto.com offers responsible use tools to keep trader habits in check.

On the platform, you'll find options for self-exclusion, deposit limits, wagering limits, reality checks, and time-outs.

One of the best responsible trading tools that Crypto.com offers is account monitoring. By using software and AI to monitor behaviors, the platform can identify signs of problematic use.
