James Conner is set up for a monster game in arguably the best matchup a running back can ask for this season. The Carolina Panthers have been abysmal against the run, allowing the **most rushing yards per game to RBs (141.5)**, **most rushing attempts per game (28.2)**, and **most rushing TDs per game (1.07)**. Their defense struggles specifically against man/gap rushing schemes, which happens to be Conner’s bread and butter. Carolina’s defensive inefficiencies are compounded by their low **stuff rate (32.3%)** and a league-worst **4.99 yards per carry** allowed to rushers. This means opposing backs are consistently gaining chunks of yardage and staying ahead of the chains. Conner has proven his ability to be a dual-threat, excelling both as a rusher and receiver. When healthy and playing full games, he has eclipsed 100+ combined rushing and receiving yards in **7 of his last 10 games** and **4 of his last 6**. The recent performances of RBs against Carolina further highlight the upside here: - Rico Dowdle: **149 R+R yards** - Saquon Barkley: **124 R+R yards** - Bucky Irving: **185 R+R yards** With backup Trey Benson ruled out, Emari Demercado on IR, and even 4th-string RB DeeJay Dallas questionable, Conner is in line for a massive workload. He should dominate the touches in this game, and against a defense this porous, volume alone should be enough to clear the modest 106.5-yard line.
