I’ve seen a lot of “how did they get to this number” from the betting community. The power ratings on these teams coming into the series were not all that different. Perception was that the Spurs were significantly better which is what inflated the line in San Antonio. Bookmakers are admitting that mistake and setting the line at its proper value. Spurs 0.5 point better than the Knicks, account for home court, account for the Spurs coming off 2 straight losses and a desperation spot - throw it all in the wash - and you get Knicks -2.5. Throw in some sharp action on the Spurs tonight and pre-tip public action on the Knicks and this line likely closes at Knicks -1.5 (-110).
