Oklahoma City is rolling—15-2 in their last 17 games, 27-4 at home. Defense is elite, allowing just 106.6 PPG (3rd), holding teams to 43.4% FG (2nd). Denver’s defense? Not close—116.3 PPG allowed (17th), 46.4% FG (14th). OKC also top 5 in steals (11.7 SPG), forcing turnovers at a high rate. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is back—averaging 46 PPG in his last two before resting. OKC scores 121.0 PPG at home (2nd), shooting 48.3% FG (6th). Denver's defense has slipped, allowing 120.2 PPG over their last five. Jokic will put up numbers, but Denver’s 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games—struggles away from home. Thunder are 39-20-4 ATS, one of the best covers in the league. With their full squad back, expect OKC to control the pace and attack Denver’s weaker transition defense. Jokic’s triple-double magic won’t be enough to slow down a well-rested and locked-in Thunder team.

It’s a clash between two of the top teams in the West and the two MVP favorites with a Sunday afternoon matchup between the Nuggets and the Thunder. I’m targeting Nikola Jokic to show out on the glass. The Thunder give up the fourth-most Rebounds per game to their opponents. In part because of the strong defense and also because they play at the fifth-fastest Pace in the league. Jokic has also been incredible on the boards of late. He’s cleared this 12.5 mark in 8 of his last 10 games and is coming off an absurd 30/20/20 triple double, the first in NBA history. Plus, his last time out against OKC he racked up 20 rebounds as well. This is the front-end of a back-to-back with these two teams playing tomorrow as well. I expect Denver to come out firing to steal the first one.
