Oklahoma City Thunder Player Stats
Oklahoma City Thunder Odds, Betting Type & Thunder Schedule
After a brilliant last decade, the Oklahoma City Thunder started their rebuild in the 2020-21 season, accumulating draft picks and giving time to young players like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. As a result, the Thunder finished with just 22 wins and did not qualify for the playoffs.
It's looking like another rebuilding year for the Thunder, though they're set up nicely over the next several NBA Drafts to accumulate talent. See more information on the Thunder, such as their full schedule, odds, against-the-spread (ATS) performance, injuries, and more.
Oklahoma City Thunder Point Spreads
Despite low expectations, the Thunder still struggled in the betting market, posting a 31-40-1 against-the-spread record in 2020-21 -- the third-worst mark in the league behind the Rockets and Cavaliers.
If you're new to betting, this refers to spread bets, which are wagers on the margin of victory or loss in a game. Here's an example of a Thunder match:
- Oklahoma City Thunder (+10.5)
- Denver Nuggets (-10.5)
The Thunder in this example are the underdogs, which you can tell by the plus sign next to their name. As 10.5-point favorites, a bet on the Thunder spread would cash if they either won the game outright or lost by 10 or fewer points. If the Nuggets won the game by 11 or more, though, the bet would lose.
Oklahoma City Thunder Moneylines
In the case of a young team like the Thunder, they can be wildly unpredictable, looking competitive one night and getting blown out the next. If you'd rather take a risk on them winning vs. covering the spread, you're looking for what's called a moneyline bet. In these, the margin of victory doesn't matter.
Here's another example of a Thunder game:
- Oklahoma City Thunder +280
- Utah Jazz -350
Again, a plus sign designates the Thunder as the underdog. The numbers here, though, reflect the payout structure. A bet on the Thunder moneyline at +280 odds means that if they win, you'd profit $28 for every $10 wagered. The Jazz moneyline of -350 means those bettors would win $10 for every $35 bet.
Oklahoma City Thunder Over/Unders
Over/under bets were profitable for the Thunder last season -- depending on which side you bet and where OKC played, that is. At home, the Thunder went 22-14 to the over, whereas on the road the overs went just 13-21-2.
Total bets are simply bets on how many points will get scored in a game. Say the Thunder played the Blazers and the total was at 225 points. An over bet on that number would cash if the teams went over 225 points -- 226 or more. An under bet would cash at 224 or fewer. If the game landed at 225 exactly, all bets would push and no wagers would lose.
Oklahoma City Thunder Props
Let's say you don't trust the Thunder as a team but are a big fan of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. You can actually bet just on his performance, and that's called a player prop bet. For example, you can bet on a bunch of his stats, such as whether he'll go over/under a certain number of points, whether he'll record a double-double, and more.
If you want to bet on something a bit more longer-term, futures bets are right up your alley. These bets are usually tied to end-of-season outcomes. Some examples for the Thunder include SGA to win Most Improved Player, the Thunder to beat their season win total, and more.
