As just -1.5 spread favorites at home, this should be a playoff-like atmosphere where starter minutes gets extended more than normal and bench players have low upside. Guys like LeVert, Strus, Niang, & Jerome are more switchable and bigger on defense & more suitable for this matchup. All the above leaves Merrill as the projected 9th man in the rotation, who I don’t see surpassing 20 minutes tonight. The Celtics have been great at defending spot-up and transition at a top-5 rate (46% of Merrill’s points) and he averages 5.8 PRA, going under 14 of 16 games when playing this minutes barrier and not making 3+ 3PM.
