Not low enough. Yes, he averaged 19.6 PRA on 25.6 MPG on the season, but with recent developments moving Jonathan Isaac to the starting lineup, he’s failed to play 17+ minutes in two straight games. Realigning roles, his average would goes down to 11.7 PRA Per-15 with the current rotation. Should we expect even more minutes from Isaac + Wagner, this could eat even more from WCJ.
In Game 1, Wendell was the least effective of the three frontcourt options: Isaac (used for defense, switch ability), Wagner (charges drawn, rim scoring). He played on two stints and when he was on the floor it was normally with Mobley at C. Many plays revolved around him camping at the corner three to space the floor for Franz/Paolo, and the USG% wasn’t high enough. As for rebounds, he’s terrible in drop coverage and will likely have his back away from the basket guarding defenders switch. #PlayerProps

The Magic and the Cavs have our attention for the first 30 minutes of the Monday slate as the Magic look to even the series up 1-1.
One player to watch in Game 2 is Franz Wagner. Wagner played 37 minutes which is a 5 minute uptick from his full season average of 32.
While Franz only recorded 3 assists in Game 1, he had a whopping 13 potentials compared to his season average of 7. Franz was much more involved in the facilitating of the offense - he just had poor conversion luck. All 3 of his assists were to Paolo who was 4/10 on FGAs off of Franz’s passes. Everyone else he passed to was a combined 0/7 from the field. Cleveland does an excellent job of limiting assists and offense overall; however, it would be unreasonable to expect that none of his non-Paolo teammates will convert on one of his potentials.
I love getting this at a plus number and will take Franz to exceed 3.5 Assists.
