The advanced metrics paint an even clearer picture of his effectiveness, with a minuscule .289 xwOBA and a great xERA, indicating he's been able to inhibit both contact and scoring well. Away from his rough history against the Royals - including that disastrous outing in April - Brown's been in great shape of late, having given up two or fewer earned runs in 12 of his last 14 starts. His ability to bounce back from a poor performance should not go unnoticed, and with the stakes high as Houston looks to secure the AL West, look for Brown to be dialed in. In addition, both teams have just been inconsistent offensively with the Royals being middle of the pack.
