Sean Dyche and his in-form Toffees will be travelling to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace this Saturday. Both sides will look to keep their decent form going in a matchup that is sure to be a tight one.

Crystal Palace currently sit 11th in the league and are coming off a flattering 2-0 victory over Burnley last weekend. They will still be without Olise, but the return of Eberechi Eze last week makes a big difference to their attacking firepower.

Everton are currently 16th in the league with 11 points, but have played some convincing football this season, especially as of late. They are undefeated in their last 3 matches and have won five of their last eight in all competitions.

Let’s get into my Crystal Palace vs Everton prediction ahead of this fixture.

Crystal Palace

You know exactly what you are going to get with this Crystal Palace side. That's organized team who is more than happy to concede possession and look to break quick against the run of play. This is how they were able to snatch all three points against Burnley because when you look at the stats, Palace were second-best in most aspects of that match.

Roy Hodgson is such an experienced manager that he knew the only way to get any results with Eze and Olise out was to be an extremely organized defensive side. They showed this against Nottingham Forest and Tottenham, where they executed a solid defensive gameplan and held both sides to very little attacking threat.

Players like Guehi, Andersen, Mitchell and Doucoure allow for them to sit back and deflect pressure from opposing sides. When they have a fully healthy front-line, they are a dangerous side on the counter. Unfortunately for Hodgson, they are still only a half-fit side at the moment.

Eze is sure to make a massive difference in this match as he is one of the few players who is able to play in tight spaces and create opportunities against the run of play. With Eze pullng the strings behind an expected frontline of Ayew, Edouard and Schlupp, Palace may be able to create some chances against an Everton side who is playing well but may be missing some key players in this fixture.

Everton

Everton are coming off a 1-1 draw at home to Brighton last weekend where they were unlucky not to claim all three points. If it were not for a fluke own goal by Ashley Young, Everton could be sitting right behind Palace in the table.

Dyche finally has this Everton side playing how he wants them to. He has been packing the middle of the park with players like Onana, Garner and Gueye to force teams to play it out wide. This has been successful as of late because of the defensive abilities of Mykolenko as well as the experience of Ashley Young at fullback. If they are beat out wide, Everton have had Branthwaite and Tarkowski there to clean up the mess.

They look organized defensively and are creating more chances than they have in recent memory. The Blues have won the xG battle in 11 of their 14 matches in all competitions this season. That should be a massive sign of encouragement for a side that was 90 minutes away from getting relegated last season.

The main cause for concern for Evertonians should be health in this weekend’s fixture. Onana, Branthwaite and Doucoure all being questionable for this one. These three are so important to how Dyche wants to play, especially someone like Doucoure who has been playing as almost a second striker this season. He is the only one with the balance to break up play and be a real threat going forward. Dyche has said that their fitness will be a late call, but it could impact the match massively.

Prediction

I anticipate Everton to create the majority of the chances in this match, whether they can put them away and take all three points is still up for debate. The Blues have been more efficient in taking their chances as of late, but with the uncertainty of some of their key players, it feels just a bit too risky taking their moneyline.

When looking at Palace for this match, I see virtually no value on taking them, even if they are plus money. While they have proved to be a solid defensive side, they have shown next to nothing going forward to justify taking them over an in-form Everton.

After taking everything into account, I will be playing Everton pk at +110. For a side that is top ten in chances created, xG and xPoints, this is a no brainer. Dyche has proved that he is more than just a 442, low-block type of manager and has shown he has the ability to prepare for some of the best teams in the league.

Pick: Everton pk (+110 via DraftKings)
