Stop me if you've heard this before: the weekend's NASCAR races have been postponed due to rain and will attempt a same-day doubleheader.

A very similar situation unfolded two weeks ago at Bristol when the Truck and Cup Series races were rained out and eventually completed in a Monday doubleheader.

When it comes to today's NASCAR races at Martinsville Speedway, here's the updated Sunday schedule:

  • XFINITY Series Cook Out 250: 12 p.m. ET, FS1
  • Cup Series Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500: 4 p.m. ET, FS1

Both races have started — the XFINITY Series has run 91 of 250 laps while the Cup cars made it 42 of 500 laps before Saturday night's red flag for rain — and should finish on Sunday, well, assuming Mother Nature cooperates.

Let's take a look at the latest NASCAR at Martinsville Sunday forecast and the chances NASCAR will have to dodge the rain once again.

NASCAR at Martinsville Sunday Weather Forecast

After a very wet Friday and Saturday, Sunday's Martinsville weather forecast looks much better.

According to the National Weather Service, mostly sunny weather is expected Sunday in Martinsville, with high temperatures in the low 70s.

And the most important part of today's forecast? There's a 0% chance of rain in Martinsville.

In case rain does find its way to the track, which wouldn't be surprising at this point, despite a very low probability, Martinsville Speedway does have lights, meaning NASCAR can run late into the night to ensure both races are completed on Sunday.

And for those wondering, a NASCAR race is official once it gets to halfway, which is lap 125 for the XFINITY Series and 250 laps for the Cup Series.

Brandon Jones will restart as the leader in the Cook Out 250, with Josh Berry, Daniel Hemric, Brett Moffitt and Jeb Burton rounding out the top five.

In the Cup Series, Denny Hamlin is currently out front, followed by Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, Martin Truex Jr. and Chase Elliott.
