Wednesday's five-game WNBA slate already tipped with three matchups in the afternoon, but there are two more games on the schedule as the league heads into the All-Star break: Storm vs. Dream (7 p.m. ET) and Aces vs. Sparks (10 p.m. ET).
I'm focused on three players for that pair of matchups and specifically targeting points props. Here's a look at my WNBA player props today.
WNBA Player Props & Picks
Storm vs.
Dream
Jewell Loyd, Over 22.5 Points (-113)
Spread | Dream -8.5 |
Time | TV | 7 p.m. ET | WNBA League Pass |
Best Line | FanDuel |
Why would you do anything else? Jewell Loyd’s season-long tear is seeing her average nearly 26 points per game and closer to 29 points per game over her last five, which has seen her top 25-plus in three of those games.
That stretch also includes a 41-point outburst against the Minnesota Lynx on June 29 and a 39-point showing against the Washington Mystics last game on July 11. The way Lloyd is scoring – even doing so while shooting 40% from the field these last five games – I’m willing to take her over just about every game and live with the results.
You’re a net positive if you’ve done that every time this season, especially lately, where she’s been over 43% from beyond the arc over her last 10 games. I don’t believe we need to overthink this.
Aces vs.
Sparks
A'ja Wilson and Nneka Ogwumike, Over 15 Points (+150)
Spread | Aces -12.5 |
Time | TV | 10 p.m. ET | CBS Sports |
Best Line | DraftKings |
DraftKings boosted this to +150 for 15 points each from Ogwumike and Wilson. It’s tough getting a handle on this game given that this is a second of a rare WNBA back-to-back for the Aces, who just destroyed the Mercury by 26 points Tuesday.
This will only be the second back-to-back for the Aces this season, and the first since late May – but last time, it didn’t matter. They won all three games – two by 21 points or more – and Wilson averaged 21 points and 8 rebounds, scoring 19-plus on each of the three efforts.
She has scored 15 or more points in nine consecutive efforts, which includes six double-digit winning efforts.
Ogwumike’s gotten 15 or more points in eight of her last nine and in all but two games this entire season. Even in a blowout, this should be within striking distance before too long, and at +150, you’re getting solid value on a perfectly reasonable and feasible boost.
