Tonight, we have the second-to-last WNBA regular season slate, which features five games: Liberty vs. Mystics, Lynx vs. Sun, Sky vs. Dream, Aces vs. Storm and Mercury vs. Sparks.

With just two games to play, the Sky, Mystics and Dream, all tied with a 13-25 record, will fight for the final position in the WNBA Playoffs. Which players will propel their respective teams to the postseason?

Below, we take a closer look at Chicago’s Chennedy Carter and Phoenix's Brittney Griner for our two favorite WNBA player props for Tuesday, September 17.

The Sky will take on the Dream in the next-to-last game of the season. Both teams have 13-25 records.

The winner will propel itself above the other, which could put either team in a win-and-in situation in their final game, since the Mystics have to face the Liberty, the best team in the WNBA, tonight.

Unfortunately, Chicago is in a tricky position. Angel Reese was recently declared out for the remainder of the season due to a wrist injury, and Kamilla Cardoso suffered a shoulder injury in her last game against the Mercury.

Cardoso is questionable for this matchup, meaning the Sky’s third-, fourth- and fifth-leading scorers (in PPG) could be sidelined.

Even if she can take the floor, her minutes could be limited, meaning it will be up to Carter tonight to produce on the offensive end.

Carter has averaged 18.5 points on 21 field goal attempts per game in her past two outings, showing a promising volume. She has also had terrific success this season against the Dream, posting 19 and 26 points the last two times she faced them.

While Carter’s 33.3% field goal percentage in those two games is not ideal, the Sky have no one else to turn to in what is likely a season-deciding game tonight.

Pick: Chennedy Carter to Score 20+ Points (-120) – DraftKings

Griner and the Mercury have the luxury of playing the league-worst Los Angeles Sparks, a team that has only managed to log seven wins in 2024.

To be fair, it is not entirely the Sparks’ fault, as injuries have ravaged them. Rookie Cameron Brink, Azura Stevens, Aari McDonald and Lexie Brown have all missed significant time this season. As a result, the Sparks have had to lean exclusively on Dearica Hamby and rookie Rickea Jackson on the offensive end.

The other end of the floor has been an atrocity, with the Sparks ranking 11th in defensive rating, opponent field goal percentage and opponent points in the paint over their past 15 games.

During that stretch, the Sparks have allowed opponents the second-highest field-goal percentage inside of five feet and between five and nine feet.

At 6'9" with a fantastic post game, Griner has an all-time matchup against an injured, undersized and unmotivated Sparks frontcourt. This should be a prime spot to back the six-time All-WNBA center.

Pick: Brittney Griner Over 18.5 Points (-122) – FanDuel
