The Dallas Wings and Minnesota Lynx face off at Target Center on Monday evening, in a battle of two teams having very different seasons. Despite coming into the season with expectations around the same spot–if not higher for Dallas–the Lynx have bene one of the best feel-good stories in the league, sitting at 10-3 atop the Western Conference. The Wings, on the other hand, are at the bottom of the West, thanks to a 3-9 record that has seen the team drop seven straight.

However, this bet doesn't deal with the spread (I would have liked the Lynx at the opening number, but the line has taken too much steam), but rather a player, and a player on the team that is struggling.

Even during this rough stretch of basketball, Teaira McCowan has been strong on the glass still, averaging 9.0 rebounds on the season, with a particularly strong run of basketball in the past week or so, averaging 18.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game in the Wings last three games.

However, I don't want to mess with McCowan's points because the Lynx defense has been elite this season, allowing the second-fewest points per game on the year. Alanna Smith is one of the most underrated rim protectors in the league and she will likely draw the McCowan assignment.

Where Smith struggles, however, is where the Lynx struggle as a whole: cleaning the glass. The Lynx allow the second-most rebounds per game, and offensive rebounds per game, which is great news for the over here. Smith, the Lynx starting center, averages just 4.5 rebonds per game, and while Napheesa Collier posts strong rebounding numbers, she is 6-1, 173 compared to McCowan who is 6-7, 239. McCowan should have a monster day on the glass.

I'd play this to -145.

Pick: Teaira McCowan over 8.5 rebounds
