A pair of teams heading for the postseason square off in a game that could help determine playoff seedings and instill confidence into whoever wins, as the Indiana Fever host the Las Vegas Aces.

Indiana is trying to hold onto the sixth seed while Vegas is looking to secure the fourth spot. Knowing these teams could ultimately face off in the playoffs, the Fever are looking to claim their first victory over the Aces this season after losing the previous three meetings.

Las Vegas Aces vs. Indiana Fever Prediction

Two of the highest-scoring teams in the league face off in a game that matters for both, so points should be aplenty. But while Caitlin Clark has the reputation for being a 3-point shooter, it's important to note her teammate Kelsey Mitchell has been incredibly consistent from deep.

Mitchell has made at least two 3s in each of her last 11 games, and the bet here is she will make it 12.

Las Vegas Aces: Getting Hot at the Right Time

The defending champion Aces have not been dominant this season but have resembled the team that won it all in '23. Led by superstar A'ja Wilson, they have won five of their last six games — the most recent victory coming over the Fever in Indiana.

In the game, Wilson became the WNBA's single-season scoring leader, a fitting honor for a player who is averaging a league-best 27.3 points per game. Wilson has scored at least 20 points in eight straight games and has landed under that mark just three times all season. A double-double machine, her prowess on the glass has her second in the W with 11.9 rebounds per game but has allowed her to post rebound totals of 12, 14, 17, 16 and 18 over the last few weeks.

The Aces are not a one-woman show, however. Kelsey Plum is averaging 17.8 points per game and has scored at least 18 in four of her last five games, while Jackie Young is chipping in 15.9 per game but has been less consistent, scoring in single digits in two of her last three games and three of her last seven.

With that trio leading the way it is no surprise the Aces score the most points per game in the league at 86.4, though they are second in offensive rating and in pace. They are a bit more average on the defensive side of the floor, landing in sixth for opponent points per game and fifth in defensive rating.

Indiana Fever: Raining 3s in Indy

The Fever have lost two of their last three games but are winners of six of their last eight. Their balanced offensive approach features four players scoring in double figures, led by Kelsey Mitchell's 19.3 points per game. Star rookie Caitlin Clark is right behind at 19.1 points per game, while Aliyah Boston (14.1) and NaLyssa Smith (10.7) round out the quartet.

Mitchell has been on a bit of a tear of late, scoring at least 21 points in 10 of her last 11 games. She has made at least two 3-point shots in each of her last 11 games, helping to create a sharpshooting duo with the rookie Clark.

For her part Clark, who carries the reputation of a scorer, has consistently found her groove as a passer. Yes, she has scored at least 24 points in five of her last six games and attempts nearly nine 3-point shots per game, but her assist totals have not dropped below five since a June 10 loss to Connecticut. That's 25 straight games with at least five dimes, which has helped push her average to 8.4 a game.

Boston's scoring has been a bit inconsistent, but she provides a steady inside presence who helps to clean up on the glass. She has collected at least 10 boards in three of her last four games and is averaging 9.1 per game on the season.

As a team, Indiana ranks third in the league in points per game at 84.4, and in offensive rating. The Fever also play at the W's third-fastest pace but ranks second-to-last in opponent points per game and defensive rating.

Aces vs. Fever: Confident in Mitchell's Perimeter Shot

There are plenty of intriguing bets in this game between two of the highest-scoring teams in the league. Points figure to be easy to come by, giving plenty of good options on which to wager. With recent history as our guide, the bet here is on Mitchell to continue her 3-point barrage, sinking at least two in the game.

Fever vs. Aces Pick: Kelsey Mitchell 2+ Made 3s (-500 on FanDuel)
