First-touchdown bets have become some of the most popular props on the market. In fact, they’re so popular that more bets were placed on who’d score the first touchdown in the season opening game between the Chiefs and Ravens than on the total.
On Monday night, one bettor, who chose to parlay three first-touchdown scorers, fattened up his wallet in a major way.
The bettor placed a $250 parlay on Amari Cooper, Jonathan Taylor and Ja’Marr Chase to all score the first touchdown of their respective games. The payout would be a massive $117,000.
The first two legs hit on Sunday, meaning he was a Chase score away from hitting it big. However, Chase wasn’t exactly lighting the world on fire heading into Monday Night Football.
After not practicing for most of training camp while in a contract dispute, Chase had just 10 catches for 97 yards and no scores through two games.
The bettor could have cashed out for a guaranteed $11K.
Instead, he led it ride, which turned out to be a fantastic decision as Chase hauled in a 41-yard touchdown less than four minutes into the game.
