Updated NFC Title Odds

The Bucs have the highest win total in the NFL, so it's no surprise that they're the favorite to win the NFC in 2022.

Tampa sees the return of Tom Brady after retiring then promptly unretiring. Without Brady, this isn't a top team by any stretch of the imagination. But with the greatest quarterback of all-time, the Bucs are firmly in the drivers seat heading into August.

The Packers are next in the +475 range, with the defending Super Bowl champion Rams not far behind at +500 -- they opened the offseason as the favorites until Brady's retirement catapulted the once +1100 Buccaneers to the top.

The 49ers (+850) and Cardinals (+1300) are making the NFC West look like the best division in the NFL. The Cowboys (+750) are the only team out of the NFC East that oddsmakers are giving a shot, but after the amazing offseason Philadelphia just had, there's some great value with the Eagles at +1800.

The bottom of the barrel looks familiar, with the Lions (+7000) and Giants (+5000) still waiting for their franchises to turn the corner.

Preseason Updates

July 12: The Bucs have held firm as favorites after Tom Brady returned from retirement.

May 23: As we head into OTAs and the summer months, the Bucs are standing pat in the lead at +350. The Packers gained on the Rams a bit, moving to +475. The 49ers are +700, the Cowboys +750 and the Cardinals now down to +1300. You could get the Eagles, who had a stellar offseason, at +1800.

April 1: The unretirement of Tom Brady shocked the world and added to a long list of wild moves during the free agency period. But the GOAT's return trumped them all and catapulted the Buccaneers into the top spot as heavy favorites at +350. The Rams dropped to +500, while the Packers joined them there. The 49ers moved down to +650, while the Cowboys (+750) and Cardinals (+1200) dropped even further.

Feb 15: Come to the end of the season, the reigning Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams opened the offseason as the favorites to go back to the big game out of the NFC at +450. They were followed by the Cowboys (+500), Packers (+600), 49ers (+700) and Cardinals (+900) in the triple-digit range.

Past NFC Champions

Odds via Sports Odds History prior to Week 1 of that season.

While the AFC has seen the same cast of characters in the Super Bowl for the most part, the NFC has seen a larger showing of discrepancy teams win the conference championship. But still, the Rams, Buccaneers, Panthers, Eagles, Seahawks, Giants and 49ers have all represented the NFC at least twice since 2001 -- the Giants also did in 2000.
