Since being fully built up, he’s at 6+ innings in each of his L4 (the latter three coming against hot hitting offenses of KC, BAL and ATL). STL is another hot hitting offense, but they don’t have drawn out at bats (3.83 pitches per PA is 5th lowest). Quintana has done a great job at limiting hard contact. Plus, even if he gets hit around a bit, Quintana is absolutely needed for length here. The Mets no longer have reliable innings eaters in the rotation outside of Jose and Senga. With Quintana built up to 100+ pitches and no worries on an innings cap this season, I’m going to upgrade this play.
