As the Timberwolves are continuing their playoff push, we’ve seen somewhat of a resurgence from their big man, Rudy Gobert.
Since the acquisition of Gobert’s former Utah Jazz point guard, Mike Conley, Gobert is over this line in five of eight games. The three misses were in tougher matchups (the Grizzlies, Sixers and Clippers).
Against the Nets, he likely won’t face much resistance (whether Nic Claxton plays or not). Over the last 30 games, the Nets have allowed the 12th most points to opposing centers, and the third most rebounds.
In fact, the Nets have been torched on the offensive glass all season, allowing the fifth most offensive rebounds, and the fifth-most points via putbacks.
Not only should Gobert be able to clean the glass, but he’s been more involved offensively overall. Since the Conley acquisition, Gobert has seen a bump in his front-court touches (25.4 vs 23.2 prior) and usage (19.7% vs 15.7% prior).
After a subpar showing in a brutal matchup against Joel Embiid, I love this spot for Gobert. I have the Frenchman projected at 29 points and rebounds, and would play this line up to over 27.5.
Pick: Rudy Gobert, Over 26.5 Points+Rebounds (-110) | Bet to Over 27.5
