LeBron James sits 36 points away from breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all time scoring record. And as luck would have it, James and the Los Angeles Lakers are slated to play one of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s former teams, the Milwaukee Bucks, on Thursday night.
So what does that mean for today’s game? Despite James being capable of putting up 50 points any given night, I’m not bumping up his stock against the Thunder, with that narrative in place for Thursday.
James is averaging 26.5 points per game playing alongside Anthony Davis this season, clearing this gaudy line in only three of the 24 games with both players active. Against the diminutive Oklahoma City Thunder, I expect Davis to produce tonight.
So while I’m not personally playing it, I do have LeBron staying under his points line tonight. Make sure to look around for the best line as this one gets close to tip-off. At the time of writing, PointsBet has James' points prop listed one point higher than the rest of the market.
