One of the more interesting games on the Friday NBA slate is the matchup between the Clippers and Magic. With both teams fighting for playoff positioning, we should be in store for a competitive game, which is sometimes a rarity this late in the regular season.
I’m looking squarely at Paul George to clear his points prop. George is averaging 23.9 points per game in March, which leads the team, and he’s cleared this points line of 21.5 in 11-of-14 contests this month.
After dealing with injuries in February, PG-13 has been the more consistent player amongst the Clippers' three superstars. James Harden’s production has wavered as he’s dealing with a shoulder injury, and Kawhi Leonard has been stuck in a shooting slump (29.5% from 3-point range in March and only 42% on jump shots).
George, on the other hand, has been shooting the ball exceptionally well, with a 46% clip from behind the arc in March.
And while it is a tougher team matchup – the Magic have the league’s third-rated defense – George has come through in these spots. Against the top-10 defenses this season, the wing has cleared this point total in 9-of-16 games when he plays at least 32 minutes.
I see the Clippers continuing to run through George tonight. I have the 14-year veteran projected for 24 points.
