Here's everything you need to know about 76ers vs. Cavaliers on Monday, Feb. 12 — our expert prediction and betting picks for today.
Let's get to our 76ers vs. Cavaliers prediction and pick.
76ers vs. Cavaliers Prediction
Pick: Over 229.5
The 76ers enter are reeling with injuries. They will be without Joel Embiid, as well as key role players in Nicolas Batum, De'Anthony Melton and Robert Covington. This has led to a 76ers offense running through Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris, which results in more spacing and shooting. Buddy Hield joins this team at the perfect time because his skill set lines up perfectly with a team that spaces the floor and shoots quick. The betting impact of all of these injuries has been to play overs. Philadelphia is pushing pace, down defensive stoppers and the closing line has been consistently higher than the opener. There is smart money on the over, and we should follow suit.
The Cavaliers have won nine straight and are also getting healthy as both Darius Garland and Evan Mobley are back in the mix. Cleveland is in a very different spot than Philadelphia, which is why this spread is 10 points. The Cavaliers' defensive prowess comes predominantly on the interior as Mobley and Jarrett Allen protect the rim. I expect the Cavaliers to continue their dominance, but also believe both teams will be able to score in this matchup.

When the 76ers have played without Embiid, there has been one trend happening on repeat — the over takes action moves up from the opener. Smart money is coming in on the 76ers to play with pace through Maxey and Harris and although the Cavaliers present as a strong defensive team when Mobley and Allen are active, I expect pace to allow both teams to score. I like the over up to 230, but wouldn't touch it higher!
