Don’t believe he’s 100% healthy and he’s playing thru a leg injury. Nurkic averages 9.3 PPG when he plays with the Big 3 & Grayson+Eric Gordon. He’s finished under 10 points in 11 of these 16 games, with a 24 PT game vs. CHA and a 18 PT game vs. WAS inflating the #. Average moves to 7.6 PPG when you filter them out. Nurkic will likely be the fifth option tonight and the Suns are fighting for a playoff spot so I don’t think they’ll be a lot of rest for Book, Beal, & Durant. He faces a NOP defense backed by Jonas Val in the paint that defends PNR Roll Man at the 5th best rate and permit the 4th fewest FGA in the restricted area since ASB. Another out here is the minutes. If Jonas Val isn’t effective offensively, the Pelicans can easily remove him off the court and go small with Nance Jr, that would require Nurkic to stretch the floor, ultimately playing him off the court. Don’t think he sees more than 31 minutes. #PlayerProps

The Suns face off against the Pelicans in what should be an exciting game between to Playoff Hopefuls. I’m targeting Kevin Durant in this spot. The Pelicans have one of the longest teams in the NBA with some of the strongest perimeter defenders; however, Durant is so efficient and effective this remains a good spot for him where there may be minutes he is covered either by Larry Nance or Zion Williamson. When these teams played on January 19th, the Suns emerged victorious after a 52 point eruption from Devin Booker. Despite Booker scoring 52 points, KD also had 26 points and 2 assists. He was incredibly efficient in his attempts and only made it to the line once. Additionally, he had just 2 assists but that was on 8 potentials. When he has played alongside of Booker and Beal he is averaging 4.7 assists on 8 potentials - he had some poor conversion luck. When KD has played with Beal and Booker, he has exceeded this 28.5 PA line in 55% of games while averaging 29.8 PA. While this is generally a tougher matchup against the Pelicans it still is a spot he can find success if it gets dragged into more of a half court style contest. I’ll back KD to exceed 28.5 PA.
