Now that's a little misleading, given that booker is averaging 15.6 potential assists per game. Furthermore, his only over this season was against the same Utah team he plays tonight. So why do we like this play? Well, we need to dig one step further. That first Utah game really has skewed his numbers. In that game, he had 10 assists and 28 potential assists. If we look at the other 4 games, he's only averaging 12.5 potential assists per game. Why did he do so well vs Utah the first time? Well, the two teams went into overtime, the Suns scored 134 points and Booker played 44 minutes. Yes, if that happens again he'll probably clear this line but it's unlikely. Kessler provides a good interior defense, which makes shooting in the paint tough. Not great, given this team already stinks at shooting. They hold the 5th lowest shooting percentage in the league (44.3%). Maybe they've been unlucky? Nope, they hold the 8th lowest effective field goal percentage as well (52.8%). Ultimately the potentials could be there, but the pieces around Booker have to hit shots. Outside of Grayson Allen, who does that? Booker is certainly the primary distributor and ball handler of this offense, but this line just feels too high given the offensive struggles of this team.
