Going back to this one on Sunday. Projecting this closer to 5. Montas threw five scoreless innings in his season debut last start after getting torched in his minor league rehab starts. I liked what I saw from him, specifically that his average velocity was in the 95 MPH range. Montas is -120 to go u2.5 earned runs and I’m going to keep picking on this Pirates offense. Mike Burrows likely won’t have a long leash after throwing 31 pitches on 6/25. I’m projecting him to throw 4 innings although he may be called for more after the Pirates went through their bullpen on Saturday. He has a 4.77 FIP but a 3.89 xFIP, so he’s been better than his surface numbers. Let’s back the pitching to slow down the bats through the F5.
