Feels gross to back Bailey Falter and Paul Blackburn, but Blackburn has outperformed his 6.62 ERA with a 5.29 xERA. Pirates are averaging just 3.33 runs per game but implied for 4.5 runs here, which is why the F5 number is up to 5.5. I’ve been targeting them all season and I’ll do it here with Blackburn. Bailey Falter on the other side has a 3.59 ERA and it’s backed by a 3.76 xERA. It’s not an easy matchup vs the Mets but the Mets have a team wRC+ of 93 vs LHP, so they’ve produced runs at a below-average clip against southpaws. I have this projected closer to 5.3 runs but will back the starting pitchers based on what I see in their advanced metrics.
