Brandon Sproat Over 4.5 Ks -120 My expected K model is pretty much in line with Sproat’s 21.8% strikeout rate on the season, so I don’t think the market is necessarily overlooking the pitcher. I think it’s overlooking the matchup. The Guardians lineup is much easier to strike out right now without Jose Ramirez and Chase DeLauter, both of whom recently landed on the IL. That’s a meaningful hit to Cleveland’s overall contact profile. The other thing working in Sproat’s favor is the lineup construction. Cleveland is sending 7 left-handed hitters to the plate today, and Sproat has shown fairly sharp reverse platoon splits, striking out lefties at roughly a 3% higher rate than righties. Only about 50% of the batters he’s faced this season have hit from the left side, so this lineup is playing directly into one of his strengths. I don’t think Sproat is some hidden strikeout ace waiting to break out, but this is one of the better spots he’s seen all season. I’m projecting him closer to -160 to clear 4.5 strikeouts and showing value on all of his alt overs as well if you want to sprinkle some exposure there.
