The Warriors travel down to Los Angeles to take on a rested Clippers team in a battle for fifth place in the Western Conference standings. Will the Clippers capitalize on their days off? Will the Warriors continue their recent dominance? Let’s dive into how this might play out and my betting pick for the game.

Golden State Warriors

The Warriors are coming off two consecutive home wins over the Bucks and Suns, but the issue for Golden State this season has been on the road. The Dubs are 7-26 on the road as they haven’t been able to play with any urgency away from Chase Center.

I expect the Warriors starters to look solid tonight as they have been thriving despite Andrew Wiggins' absence. Since inserting Donte DiVincenzo into the lineup, the Warriors' starting five — with Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry and Kevon Looney — has a +15.4 net rating through a small sample size of 123 possessions.

Warriors starters haven’t been the issue this season — all six of their regular starters have positive net-rating swings. The problem has been their bench, as JaMychal Green, Jordan Poole and Jonathan Kuminga have struggled to consistently win their minutes when the starters are off the floor. The Clippers have some of the best depth in the NBA, so it will be interesting to see if the Warriors can hang when Steph, Klay and Dray are on the bench.

Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers have won three straight games and have been led by Kawhi Leonard over this stretch. Leonard has averaged 32 PPG, 8.6 RPG, 3.3 APG on 54% shooting during this streak.

That has been the story for the Clippers this season; they have a +4.9 net rating with Leonard on the floor, and -5.4 when he is off. Expect Leonard and Paul George to have big games as the Warriors are fairly bereft of wing defenders due to the absence of Wiggins.

Leonard and George combined for 60 points in their last game against the Warriors in limited minutes. If Draymond Green gets in foul trouble, it could be a long night for Golden State's defense.

Warriors-Clippers Pick

I have to back the Clippers with a two-day rest advantage over a Dubs team that has struggled on the road. Factor in the Warriors' intense two games over the weekend, and I expect the Clippers to have a significant rest/preparation edge.

Los Angeles should have a sour taste in its mouth from the blowout loss to the Dubs earlier this month and I expect them to come out with urgency considering the playoff implications. Back the Clippers to defend their homecourt and cover this short number on Wednesday night.
