Here's everything you need to know about Warriors vs. 76ers on Wednesday, Feb. 7 — our expert prediction and betting picks for today.

After weeks of despair, things are finally looking up for the Golden State Warriors. They've seemed to find a winning rotation, taking three of their last four games, and enter Wednesday's matchup against Philly with plenty of optimism.

Will the Warriors' winning ways continue against a short-handed Sixers side?

Let's get to our Warriors vs. 76ers prediction and pick.

Warriors vs. 76ers Prediction

Pick: Warriors -5 (-110)

Can Thompson Improve for Warriors?

The Warriors have tried just about everything this season in an effort to improve, but I'm not sure anyone figured pulling two wings out of the G-League would wind up being the catalyst for a turnaround. Sure enough, Lester Quinones and Gui Santos have stepped in over the last week to provide some good defense off the bench, and it was Santos — not Klay Thompson — who closed out the Warriors' Tuesday's win over the Nets.

Now, I wouldn't say either of these guys are impact players on offense, but as this team sits just outside the top 10 in the league in scoring efficiency over the last four games, it's hard to say they're not helping.

Thompson is in the middle of a stretch where he's shot just 28.8% from 3 over the last six games, and most concerning of all is he's taking around 10 shots per game from outside. Getting Quinones and Santos on the floor has helped keep the ball out of Thompson's hands, which has been a net positive for the Warriors.

Defensively, not much has really changed. This is still a team which sits toward the bottom of the league in points allowed per 100 possessions and has been abysmal in stopping shots at the rim.

Draymond Green is questionable entering this game, and while he's expected to play, his loss would certainly put these defensive issues further under the microscope.

76ers Struggling Without Embiid

I don't want to call this situation a living nightmare for the 76ers, but it sure feels that way. Joel Embiid has been lost for the foreseeable future; De'Anthony Melton, Nic Batum and Robert Covington were already on the shelf; and now the Sixers will enter their game on Wednesday with three new key names on the injury report.

While losing Danuel House Jr. (foot) and Marcus Morris (foot) here would certainly be a big blow considering the roles those two have played in the wake of all the injuries, the biggest name of all listed as questionable is Tyrese Maxey, after Philly's new lead man picked up an illness. You can make of his status what you will, since he's simply fallen ill, but the fact remains there's at least a chance he misses this one, which is a terrifying thought for Philly.

The Sixers have now lost two straight since losing Embiid three days ago — by a combined 31 points — and even their win in the immediate aftermath of the injury was fueled by a 51-point performance out of Maxey.

This team has no answers on offense right now, and that's drawn more attention to their defensive issues, which began when these injuries to role players began to multiply.

Laying points with the Warriors this season has been a tough ask, but this has all the makings of a mismatch. Philly should have no feasible way to exploit a weak Warriors frontcourt without Embiid, and on the flip side the Warriors should torch a Philly defense that has been burned by the 3 in recent games. If Maxey or even one of the other two names on the injury report for the Sixers don't go here, the scales will be even more heavily tipped in Golden State's favor.

With the ball staying out of Thompson's hands, this is beginning to look like a much more efficient Warriors offense, and I trust them enough to grab another win as they continue to try and rescue their record in hopes of making the playoffs.

Pick: Warriors -5 (-110)
