Sports writers at Action Network tend to have a talent for winning bets. Well, let’s take some of their +EV bets and put them in a Same-Game Parlay.
Each day, we have best bets from our analysts in the NFL, NBA, NHL & MLB that cover sides/totals or even niche markets like player prop bets. As recreational bettors, we all like to indulge in our degen side occasionally. So, when the time comes, let’s do it responsibly and create a fun and low-stakes SGP.
Today’s matchup we’ll use Game 5 of the NBA Playoffs between Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets on May 14, 2024:
Timberwolves vs. Nuggets Same-Game Parlay: Game 5
- Nuggets -4.5
- Jaden McDaniels Over 9.5 Points + Assists
- Over 206
Parlay Odds: +525
After going up 2-0 in the series and then dropping two in a row, the Denver Nuggets may have figured out the Minnesota Timberwolves.
It looks like Chris Baker has seen enough and he’s ready to lay the points in Game 5 on the reigning NBA Champions:
“The Nuggets have seemingly solved the Wolves' defense. They have now gone two straight games with a stellar offensive rating, putting up a mark of 114.5 in the half-court in Game 3 and 121.8 in Game 4.
Remember, the Timberwolves haven’t had to fly into altitude on short rest yet, as they finished the Suns in four games. The Nuggets had three full days of rest to regroup after dropping two home games, but the Wolves will have just one.”

It can be argued that the Timberwolves will only go as far as their supporting cast. The heroics of Anthony Edwards will likely only take them so far. Matt Moore explains why Minnesota will need some help from Jaden McDaniels:
“This is a fade of Kyle Anderson. Anderson only played six minutes in Game 4 and the Wolves were obliterated in them. It's just not his series.
This is the game where Finch changes his rotations. They need to go to one big and then they need to play more wings. I think we'll get 40+ minutes from Jaden McDaniels, barring foul trouble.
I want the points and assists play because it might be as simple as two corner 3s, a transition layup/dunk and three assists on extra passes in rotation or in transition.”

Part of betting Same-Game Parlays is trying to link up picks that have direct correlation. In tonight’s game between the Nuggets and Timberwolves, Matt Moore feels if you like Denver, consider the OVER 205.5 too:
"The game script reads like an over here. The Nuggets have figured out a lot offensively against this Wolves defense, and Minnesota can now only start plugging holes.
The Wolves also have to push the pace to create easier buckets when Jokic isn't on the floor (and on the floor, honestly).
The offense has died on the bench; the Wolves are scoring 71 points per 100 possessions with Kyle Anderson on the floor, who I think will be cut from the rotation in this game.”
