Three more playoff games tip-off tonight in the NBA and a few teams find themselves with their backs against the wall. Below I have highlighted a couple of players I like to step up for their teams tonight.
A quick refresher if you aren’t familiar with PrizePicks: you can combine up to five different player squares to payout up to 10x your entry.
You can do a Flex Play or a Power Play. A Flex Play gives you lesser odds, but you can win money if you do not nail every pick. A Power Play is all-or-nothing.
Here’s how I would approach today’s slate in NBA Playoffs slate.
What is PrizePicks? A daily fantasy operator — meaning they’re available in more states (30) than sports betting is! — PrizePicks offers a unique opportunity for action on player projections in which you parlay two or more plays together.
Cam Johnson More Than 2.5 3-Pointers
The series will shift back to Brooklyn as the Nets look to get on the board by winning a game in this series. One player who has been shooting the ball well for the Nets has been Cam Johnson. In the first two games of the series, Johnson is averaging 23 points per game but more importantly, shooting well from the 3-point line.
Through two games of the series, Johnson is a combined 9-of-15 from beyond the arc and has knocked down at least four 3-point shots in each of the first two games. Johnson shot 40.4% from deep in the regular season, so it should not come as a surprise that Johnson is shooting it well from the beyond the arc in the playoffs.
The Sixers’ attention has been to slow down Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson has been able to find the open looks in the first two games of the series. I expect the success to continue in Game 3 at Barclays Center.
Stephen Curry More Than 29.5 Points
The Kings handled business on their home floor and took a commanding 2-0 lead against the reigning NBA Champions. The Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry find themselves in the new territory being down 0-2 in a playoff series, which has never happened in his career.
The Warriors return home, and they will be without Draymond Green who is serving a one-game suspension. This season, with Green and Curry share the floor, the former MVP has a 29.65% Usage Rate. When Curry is on and Green off the floor, that Usage Rate jumps to 34.24% and the next closest Warriors is Klay Thompson at 21.39%.
I am getting behind Curry tonight to have a big night for the Warriors to avoid going down 0-3. This season at home, Curry averaged 29.3 points per game while shooting 45.3% from the beyond the arc. In four games during the regular season against the Kings, Curry averaged 33 points per game on 58.4% shooting from the floor and 50% from the perimeter.
In the first two games of this series, Curry has gotten up 20.5 shot attempts and topped this projection in Game 1 of this series. Curry had a subpar shooting night in Game 2 going 9-of-21 from the field but in a desperate situation, I expect Curry to have a big night.
