On Monday night, we backed Paul George and Julius Randle against their former teams and cashed as they both finished with 27 points. Tonight, there are several "revenge" angles in the Jazz–Cavaliers game after the trade in the summer of 2022. However, I will be backing Collin Sexton in that one.
Last night in San Francisco, there was a rematch of the 2022 NBA Finals as the Warriors rallied to knock off the Celtics. Tonight, we could have a NBA Finals preview with the Timberwolves in Philadelphia to battle the Sixers. Anthony Edwards could be in for another big night.
Meanwhile in Dallas, the Clippers and Mavericks will battle for positioning in the West as the Clippers look to stay hot. Ivica Zubac may help them extend their winning streak to nine games.
NBA Player Props Tonight
This season, Collin Sexton is averaging 14.8 points per game. You may be wondering why I am backing him to score 22 points tonight. Well, Sexton entered the Jazz starting lineup four games ago. Since then, he is averaging 27 points per game. Tonight's line is about in between his season average and average as a starter. However, Sexton may have sights set a little higher tonight.
Before the Cavaliers drafted Darius Garland, they drafted Sexton in 2018 with the expectation that he would emerge as their franchise point guard. Sexton spent his four years with the Cavaliers and he averaged a career-high 24 points per game in third year. However, Sexton was traded to Utah along with Lauri Markkanen in a package for Donovan Mitchell last summer.
Sexton missed both games against Cleveland last season with injuries so this will be his first time facing his former team. The matchup comes at a time when he has hit this line in each of his last four games and five of his past eight. He finished with 20 in another game in that span as well. Additionally, the Cavaliers have allowed 35 points to Trae Young and 27 points to Fred VanVleet in his last two games.
If Sexton joins them in having a big night, it will be worth it to sprinkle on him getting 30 points at +450 on FanDuel. The most he has scored in his hot streak is 28 points, but getting one more bucket in a game he should be highly motivated is not asking for a lot.

Anthony Edwards is no stranger to scoring 30 points himself. Since recovering from a hip injury, he has scored 30 points in each of his last two games. He has also scored 30 points in four of his last 10 games. That includes when he scored 31 points against the Sixers last month.
Edwards has enjoyed a lot of success against the Sixers of late. In his last three games against them, he is averaging 29.3 points per game. He went over 30 points in two of the games and finished with 25 points in the other one.
On paper, Philadelphia presents a difficult matchup as it is fifth in the league in defensive rating. However, it is allowing the 10th-most points per game to shooting guards. Bulls guard Coby White scored 24 points against Philadelphia on Monday on 17 field goal attempts. Edwards has taken at least 17 field goal attempts in each of the last four games he finished. He has averaged over 19 field goal attempts per game over the last two years so he will have the volume to hit this line.
That volume could result in his third straight 30-point game. You can take him for 30 points at +165 on FanDuel and it is +1357 if you combo him with Sexton.

The Clippers have righted the ship since starting 0-5 immediately acquiring James Harden. Their star players, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Harden, have played well over the last month. One player who may go overlooked is the man in the middle center Ivica Zubac.
Over the last month, Zubac is averaging over 13 points per game. He has scored 13 points in three of his last five and six of his last 10 games. He has thrived as the roll man in the pick-and-roll with James Harden. He is also averaging 3.1 offensive rebounds per game, giving him plenty of opportunities for second chance points.
On Monday, four of Zubac's 16 rebounds were on the offensive end. He also scored 18 points as the Pacers were playing without Myles Turner. He may find himself in a favorable matchup once again as the Mavericks will be without center Dereck Lively II for the second straight game. He will join forward/center Maxi Kleber on the sidelines.
The Mavericks being shorthanded down low may help Zubac find more success in that matchup. He is averaging 8.2 points in the last six meetings against Dallas, but he scored 12 and 11 points in the two meetings this season. He was a free throw and a basket away from hitting this line in those games.
Zubac has scored exactly 18 points in four of his last 10 games, so 20 points at +650 on FanDuel may be a bit ambitious. However, I do also like him for a double-double at +120 on FanDuel.
