NBA Odds & Picks
Charlotte Hornets vs. New York Knicks
Jim Turvey: The Knicks will look to stay red hot Tuesday against the Hornets, and there's a good chance they'll at least get off to a fast start.
If you've been watching the Knicks this season, you know that their first half performances have been unreal, and the numbers match the eye test. They are a scintillating 44-20-2 against the spread in the first half, a +30.4% ROI that is more than triple any non-Grizzlies team in the league this season.
At home they are 24-8-2 for a 40.3% ROI, and in the last 10 games they are 7-3-0 for a 32.7% ROI. Any way you cut it, it's a great look for New York.
And that's before you get to the other side of things. The Hornets are last in the league this season when it comes to covering first half spreads, with a 23-41-1 record — a -31.7% return.
Add it all together, and it's a hammer spot and if you want to look for alt lines, the edge should carry to there as well.
Memphis Grizzlies vs. Los Angeles Lakers
Joe Dellera: I wrote at length about the Grizzlies from a props perspective in my weekly forecast (and also this game at large), but the biggest player to watch is Tyus Jones — let's dive into some of his props.
Jones has excelled in an expanded role both this season and last without Moran. In 10 games without Morant, Jones has averaged 33.5 minutes, 19.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 8.1 assists, and 2.7 steals. His points prop today is set at 14.5 or 15.5; either is fine and is a number he has exceeded in seven of 10 games this season without Morant.
Additionally, DraftKings has listed both his steals and steals + blocks line at 1.5 with identical juice. While he is not a real threat for blocks with just four on the season, it makes no sense to not take the combo prop at the same price. He's recorded two or more stocks in nine of 10 without Morant.
Considering his averages and this being a Pace Up spot vs the Lakers, I threw together a Tyus Jones Same Game Parlay on DraftKings for him to record 20+ points, over 7.5 assists, and 2+ steals at +900 and think that's worth a sprinkle.
