Let's get to our 76ers vs. Pacers prediction and pick.
76ers vs. Pacers Prediction
Pick: 76ers -5 (-110)
The 76ers come into this game winners of six straight and are coming off a massive 70-point eruption from Joel Embiid on Monday night. Embiid has been dominating inferior competition all season long and has moved back to the favorite for MVP at most books.
This is another great matchup for Embiid as the Pacers defense ranks dead-last in rim rate allowed. They are also 29th in free throw attempt rate so expect Embiid and Tyrese Maxey to be at the free throw line all night. While on the other side of that same coin, the 76ers offense currently ranks first in FT rate in the entire NBA.

On the flip side, the Pacers offense has fallen off a cliff since the Tyrese Haliburton injury. Indiana has an offensive rating of 126.4 with Haliburton on the court versus a rating of just 116 with him off.
This team desperately needs him back if they want to avoid the play-in game. The early returns on the Pascal Siakam trade are mixed. The Pacers are +13.8 points better with him on the court versus with him off. He is also shooting poorly from the field at just 52.3% effective field goal percentage.
Ultimately, these numbers mean nothing given how small of a sample size we are working with and the absence of Haliburton from the lineup. Until we saw those two play together for a larger period of time we can’t judge this trade.
This will be a difficult matchup for Siakam as the 76ers have a plethora of long wing-defenders to throw at him. Between Nicolas Batum and Tobias Harris at the point of attack and Joel Embiid at the rim I expect Siakam to struggle a bit here.

At the current line of -5, I think we are getting a very cheap price on a 76ers team that has proven they can beat up on bad teams.
The Pacers without Haliburton qualify as a bad team and this is also an awful matchup for their defense. They can’t keep people out of the paint and off the free throw line and that is exactly what you need to do to contain the 76ers offense.
We’ve already seen the 76ers post games of 126 and 137 against Indiana's defense this season. The 76ers should be able to score at will and the Pacers might struggle to keep up without their star PG so take the 76ers -5 and play this up to -6.
