I’m splitting my bet in half here to target Turner. Turner has stayed extremely hot this year for Indiana to start games and has averaged 4.9 points in the 1Q of games. He plays about 9 minutes in that rotation and as a result, gets the opportunity to start the game off strong. He has exceeded 4.5 1Q points in four straight games as well. He also has a strong history vs the Rockets. In five games against Sengun, he has averaged 21.8 ppg and exceeded his full game line of 16.5 in all five games. The Rockets have been strong defensively this year but they’re susceptible to these bigs that are able to spread the floor. Brook Lopez (27), Isaiah Stewart (16), and Chet Holmgren (29) all exceeded their point total against Houston recently. I like Turner to start strong and then continue that performance throughout the game.

Averaging 28.3 PRA this season so we’re getting an opening number above his season average. Has surpassed 32.5 PRA in only 4 of 14 games this season. It’s a tough matchup versus Houston. Rockets rank 3rd in defensive efficiency, allow the fewest assists per game (21.9), allow the 3rd fewest points per game (105.7), and are tied for allowing the third fewest 3-pointers per game (21.0). My projections have Haliburton closer to a 30 PRA at the time of this writing and that’s with Myles Turner (Q) and Ben Sheppard (Q) in. Haliburton has shown a solid decline in assist rate when Turner is out, so we might benefit if Turner can’t suit up. Playable on both Sleeper and Underdog.
