Cubs vs Mets MLB Betting Preview

It’s tough for me not to get behind Nolan McLean and the Mets in Game 1 of this doubleheader.

McLean is starting to find his form. He carved up the Reds in his most recent start (7 IP, 0 ER, 9 K) behind nasty stuff (109 Stuff+). All his indicators indicate an above-average starting pitcher.

While the Cubs have yet to announce a starting pitcher, I think it will be Javier Assad. He is an OK pitcher, but he’s a step down from McLean.

Meanwhile, the Mets have a massive bullpen advantage.

Hopefully, we can survive New York’s poor lineup and defense, but I’m more than interested in backing the Mets as a home pup.

Pick: Mets ML
