We head down to Houston, Texas as the Rice Owls will host the Connecticut Huskies.

The Owls will look to make it two wins in a row, while the Huskies are still searching for their first victory of the season.

It's been a disappointing year for UConn, as the program seemed to have turned a corner after earning a bowl bid last year.

Now it's back to square one for the Huskies.

Meanwhile, Rice has been a covering machine this year. The Owls find themselves 4-1 ATS, and it's all thanks to the terrific QB play from JT Daniels.

We may get a desperate effort from the Huskies, but will the Rice offense be too much to overcome?

Let's breakdown both of these teams and uncover the best betting angle from UConn vs. Rice.

Connecticut Huskies

You can make a good argument that the Huskies should've won last week against Utah State. UConn outgained the Aggies by nearly 60 yards and the difference was a blocked extra point at the end of the game.

It's been a demoralizing season thus far, and the loss last week put the icing on the cake.

The big question is if the Huskies will have a letdown after a heartbreaking loss, and I think we'll be able to tell right away.

Utah State is one of the worst teams in the FBS, so I'm really not taking a lot from the Huskies' offensive performance from last week.

Throughout the entire season, this offense has been completely anemic.

UConn is 111th in passing and 92nd in rushing out of 150 FBS teams. This Owls' defense is nothing to write home about, but it'd be quite a surprise to see the Huskies repeat last week's performance.

The Huskies' strength of schedule has also been pretty weak, whereas Rice has faced much a higher quality of opponents.

I don't think this is the best matchup for the Huskies to get their first win of the season.

Rice Owls

I love this Owls offense, and I think this is another terrific spot for it to excel. Daniels has been outstanding thus far this season, and I think he's primed for a huge day.

Ranked 13th in the FBS in passing, I don't see how the Huskies manage to get many stops against this Owls offense.

If you're into props, I think Daniels' passing yards over is a no-brainer.

I do have a slight concern about this Owls' defense, as it's been pretty vulnerable throughout the season. The Huskies could easily build some momentum after last week, and this Owls secondary has been exposed in several games this year.

I don't really expect UConn to run the ball much here, so I think the Owls can game plan for a lot of passing attempts. With that being said, this type of game plan could help a struggling secondary, as the linebackers and safeties may not need to creep in as much.

This has all of the makings of a blowout. I know this is such a chalky take, but this is a classic spot for the Owls to take advantage of a potential letdown spot for the Huskies.

Betting Pick & Prediction

I'm going to ride with the public in this spot and take the Owls. I know this is a large number, but I have full confidence in Daniels to explode against this Huskies defense.

I know UConn may have found something with its offense last week, but I still think it will fall back to earth. QB Ta'Quan Roberson is turnover prone, and despite the great matchup, I don't think he has the chops to keep up.

I fully trust this Owls offense to outclass this Huskies defense, and I wouldn't mind if they decided to turn this game into a track meet.

Let's swallow the points and get this cover home.

Pick: Rice -9.5 (Play to -10.5)
