It's time to take a look at the Florida Gators vs. Texas A&M Aggies odds and make a prediction for Saturday's SEC college basketball showdown.

The Florida Gators avenged their early season loss to the Kentucky Wildcats on Wednesday evening. It was the second consecutive overtime victory for head coach Todd Golden's squad as they continue to bolster their NCAA tournament resume.

Now, the Gators head to College Station and face the Texas A&M Aggies in a horrific situational spot Saturday afternoon.

The Aggies need a big win at home to get their season back on track. There's no denying their talent, but racking up wins down the stretch is a must.

There's an opportunity to buy low on the Aggies here.

Florida Gators

The Gators are riding high after two exhausting victories in the last week. They finally got over the hump against Kentucky and now are tasked with defeating a desperate Aggies squad on the road.

It's remarkable how explosive the offense has been, as the Gators enter the matchup 14th in adjusted offensive efficiency. That's particularly impressive because they shoot just 33% from deep.

With only moderate success from deep, Florida isn't reliant on its 3-point shooting. As talented as this team is on offense, it's naive to think it isn't a regression candidate.

Although Golden's squad runs a high-tempo offense, its shooting numbers all over the floor are mediocre at best. The Gators are also a terrible team from the charity stripe, shooting 69% as a team.

The difference in the matchup is the battle on the boards. The Gators are the No. 2 offensive rebounding team, whereas the Aggies are No. 1. Whichever side earns the most second-chance opportunities is set up to win the game outright.

The backcourt for the Gators is also extremely important to their success. Guards Walter Clayton Jr. and Tyrese Samuel must be at their best to hang with the Aggies' backcourt.

Florida can also be turnover-prone at times, which is something to monitor when entering a hostile road environment.

The situational spot outweighs all variables in the matchup, but don't be surprised to see a cold offensive performance.

Texas A&M Aggies

It's due or die time for Buzz Williams' team.

Their offensive metrics are sore on the eyes, but there's some good news for Aggies fans. The Aggies have been unlucky on both ends of the court, according to ShotQuality. Their talented offensive players have been the subject of bad variance.

The problem for A&M is that winning is its only way to make the NCAA Tournament. Luckily for this team, it's in a fantastic situational spot to get back on track.

Star point guard Wade Taylor IV is the heart and soul of the Aggies, and he dropped 30 points in the team's loss to Ole Miss on Jan. 27. However, other members of the Aggies need to step up offensively to keep up against a talented Gators team.

Texas A&M protects the basketball well, and the Florida defense is nothing to write home about. With the ability to earn second chances on offense and the positive shooting regression that looms, the Aggies could be in for a big day.

On the other end of the floor, their interior defense is a big X-factor. If A&M steps up inside, Florida may end up becoming too reliant on the 3.

Betting Pick & Prediction

This is arguably the best situational spot on the board Saturday, and it's a sensational buy-low spot for the Aggies. Plus, it's been an emotional week for the Gators after defeating Georgia and Kentucky in back-to-back OT games.

Florida is in for a letdown and some offensive regression. Clayton is a great player, but it'll be tough for him to repeat a seven-triple performance like he had against the Wildcats.

The Aggies need a win to keep their NCAA Tournament hopes alive, and they can't afford to mess around in winnable games on their schedule. Reed Arena should be buzzing throughout the entire contest.

A&M is due for good fortune on both ends of the floor, making this the spot to cash in on that. Remain calm and have faith in the Aggies to revive their season with a massive win at home. Gig' Em.

Pick: Texas A&M -2 or Better
