The first home game in the history of the Seattle Kraken franchise takes place on Saturday at Climate Pledge Arena. Seattle has had a strong start to the series, earning a series split thus far with the Colorado Avalanche.
The first two contests of this series were back-and-forth affairs, and I see Game 3 potentially having a great game script for the stars to shine. I am counting on Seattle making this competitive, which will be key to booking a win with these tickets.
Here are two Avalanche vs. Kraken same game parlay options that could be gold.
Same Game Parlay: Avalanche vs. Kraken
The Parlay (+600) at Bet365
- Nathan MacKinnon Over 4.5 Shots on Goal
- Cale Makar Over 2.5 Shots on Goal
- Jared McCann Over 2.5 Shots on Goal
- Over 5.5 Goals
Nathan MacKinnon Over 4.5 Shots On Goal
The fact that Seattle is hanging with Colorado in this series is excellent for this prop, which is reliant on Colorado's superstars performing.
The Kraken are winning lots of matchups when the Avs' superstars are not on the ice, and it seems coach Jared Bednar will continue to be forced into skating MacKinnon and company heavy minutes. MacKinnon has played 43:38 in the first two games.
MacKinnon continues to pour shots on goal at an absurd rate this postseason. He has a total of 15 shots in the first two matchups off 22 attempts on goal. That adds up to 30.25 shot attempts per 60. He's now averaged 5.99 shots per game in the 21 playoff games since the start of last year’s run. He has cashed over 4.5 in 16 of those 21 games (76%).
MacKinnon deserves to be considered the second-best player alive at this moment. He continues to find another gear in the postseason, and is playing at an incredible level in this series.
Cale Makar Over 2.5 Shots on Goal:
Makar has been in better form than what we saw in the regular season, when he dealt with a number of nagging injuries. Not that his regular season was bad, but it appears the excitement of the postseason has rejuvenated his game.
Part of Colorado's dominant push in the third period of Game 2 was the fact that MacKinnon or Makar were seemingly on the ice at all times and creating chances. That will ideally be the case again in this game.
Makar has generated 21 shot attempts in the series, and seven of those have gone on target throughout the first two matchups.
Jared McCann Over 2.5 Shots on Goal:
McCann has been quiet with just two shots on goal from four attempts over the first two games.
Those marks are drastically below the pace set he set to end the season. Over the last 20 games, McCann put up an average of 3.90 shots per game, which propelled him to the first 40-goal campaign in Kraken history.
McCann, Matty Beniers and Jordan Eberle struggled in Colorado as they spent much of the time facing off against Colorado's top even-strength units. As the series moves to Seattle, that unit should fare better. Head coach Dave Hakstol can use last change to find favorable matchups.
It's a big adjustment for McCann's line to be at 2.5 vs. 3.5. I love his chances of cashing this leg.
Over 5.5 Goals
Considering how the first two matchups looked, it's surprising that just nine goals have been scored in this series.
Seattle has looked threatening offensively while Avs goaltender Alexandar Georgiev has been shaky in his first taste of playoff action.
It's not that surprising the underdog Kraken are putting forth a respectable effort offensively, as they led the league in even-strength goals in the regular season.
What is surprising is how sharp Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer has been. He has played to a +2.5 GSAx and .947 save %. Both of those marks are drastically better than his .895 save % and -0.7 GSAx from the regular season.
I would not count on Grubauer continuing to find such success against a potent Avalanche attack.
Bonus Parlay (+1000) at Bet365
- Cale Makar Over 0.5 Points
- Artturi Lehkonen Over 0.5 Points
- Jared McCann Over 0.5 Points
- Jordan Eberle Over 0.5 Points
- Jaden Schwartz Over 0.5 Points
This is a bonus play that features my favorite players to produce offense in what I hope is a high-scoring game.
Makar and Lehkonen have excellent correlation on the power play and I love the chances of each doing some damage. McCann, Eberle and Schwartz combine on the Kraken's power play, which has looked solid in the first two games of the series. As alluded to above, I believe the Kraken's top offensive line should find a way to be more dangerous.
