Tulane Green Wave Football 2024
Tulane has consistently been one of the best football teams in the American Athletic Conference since finishing with a 2-10 record in 2021. The Green Wave stunned the USC Trojans in a thriller in the 2023 Cotton Bowl to cap off a 12-2 season, following that showing with an 11-win season in 2023.
The 2024 nonconference slate for Tulane features games against Kansas State and Oklahoma, but the Green Wave are poised to be dominant in the AAC again after an 8-0 conference record a season ago. But they'll have to do it without QB Michael Pratt, who has since departed to the NFL.
Here's how you can bet on Tulane this season, and some key things to know.
Betting on the Tulane Green Wave
Tulane Point Spreads
Point spreads are a popular bet one can make on either team in a college football game and are based on the margin of victory for the winning team.
A Tulane spread might look like this:
- Tulane +3.5 (-110)
- UTSA -3.5 (-110)
A 31-28 loss for Tulane is still a win for spread bettors since the three-point margin of defeat is less than the 3.5-point spread. Spread tickets on the Green Wave would cash with any loss of three or fewer points, or an outright win.
FAQ: Everything you need to know about point spreads
Tulane Over/Unders
Over/unders, or totals, are bets on the number of points scored in the game. Tulane was the second-worst team in the nation to the Over in the regular season in 2023 at just 3-11, meaning 11 of Tulane's 14 games went under their total.

Tulane Moneylines
While spread bets depend on the amount of the victory, moneyline bets are a bit simpler, as all that matters is which team wins. Let's look at an example:
- Tulane -160
- SMU +180
The minus (-) and plus (+) signs distinguish the favorite from the underdog, making Tulane the favorite in this scenario. Odds can be understood more clearly if you think in terms of $100 increments. A wager on the Green Wave odds would mean every $160 bet nets $100. And it's the opposite for underdogs: Here, the SMU moneyline was set at +180, meaning a $100 wager would profit $180.
Moneylines are also commonly used when making parlays, which are multiple bets tied into one. Let’s say you bet on Tulane's moneyline and the Over, both bets would need to win for that parlay to be successful. The risk may be greater, but so is the reward with increased odds. Tulane Props
Player props are bets on how much of a specific statistic a player will accumulate.
For example, you could bet on how many touchdown passes QB Darian Mensah will throw in a game or bet over or under on RB Makhi Hughes' rushing yards. Many skill position players (and some defenders) will have a variety of props available to bet each game.

Tulane Futures
Futures are somewhat similar to prop bets in the way both are monitored over the course of a season. However, most future bets are focused on end of season success. Examples of futures are:
- Tulane odds to win the AAC
- Tulane odds to reach the College Football Playoff
- Tulane odds to win the College Football Playoff
If you think the Green Wave can reach the new 12-team College Football Playoff this season, this is the bet to make. These types of bets are called futures, and they're just wagers on things that settle at the end of the year. For a full list of college football futures, click or tap here.
