Jayhawks 2025 Schedule & Betting Odds
2025 Kansas Jayhawks Football
After the buzz of that 9-4 finish and bowl win in 2023, 2024 felt like a step back. KU finished 5-7 (4-5 in the Big 12), missed a bowl, and dealt with stadium chaos, home games split between Children’s Mercy Park and Arrowhead. Not ideal.
Still, Coach Lance Leipold heads into Year 5 with his system in place and a team that feels more stable than it looks on paper. Quarterback Jalon Daniels is back and locked in for his final season. Transfer RB Leshon Williams (via Iowa) adds some punch to the backfield. Offensively, KU should look more like the group that averaged nearly 35 points per game in 2023, not the one that sputtered in spots last fall.
On defense? It’s a mixed bag. KU gave up 26.4 points per game last year, not a disaster, but not exactly a shutdown unit either. Corners Cobee Bryant and Mello Dotson bring veteran presence to the secondary, but there’s been turnover in the front seven. Leipold brought in high-upside recruits and portal help to patch things together.
According to our power ratings, Kansas ranks No. 35 in the country with a power rating of 82.6. That puts them just below Arizona and just ahead of Cincinnati, which is solid, but firmly in the “middle of the pack” territory. If the offense clicks, they’ve got room to climb.
And yeah, here’s how betting the Jayhawks is shaping up for 2025.
Betting on Kansas
You’ve got all the betting levers: futures, moneylines, spreads, totals, props. Head over to our college football odds page to track live lines, compare books, and lock in key plays.
Kansas Jayhawks Point Spreads
One of the most common bets in college football is the point spread, which is a wager on the margin of victory.
Let’s run a quick example:
- Kansas State Wildcats (-3.5)
- Kansas Jayhawks (+3.5)
Here, KU is a 3.5-point underdog. A bet on the Jayhawks cashes if they win outright or lose by three points or fewer. A bet on K-State only wins if they win by four or more. Simple enough.
Spreads are where most of the action is, and when KU’s a live dog, bettors tend to pay attention.
Kansas Jayhawks Moneylines
Sometimes you don’t want to mess with the number. That’s where moneyline betting comes in, you just pick the winner.
Let’s say you see this:
- Kansas State -170
- Kansas +140
Bet $170 on the Wildcats to win $100, or $100 on KU to win $140. No math around the spread, just win or lose.
Kansas has been a moneyline sleeper in recent seasons, especially in toss-up home games. Keep an eye on those.
Kansas Jayhawks Over/Unders
Totals (aka over/under) are bets on the combined number of points scored. Doesn’t matter who wins, it’s all about the scoreboard.
Say the total is 52:
- Over bettors want 53+
- Under bettors need 51 or fewer
If it lands on 52 exactly? That’s a push, you get your money back.
KU’s totals can swing wildly depending on which version of the offense shows up. With Daniels and Williams healthy, overs might get some love early in the season.
Kansas Jayhawks Props
Not every bet fits neatly into spreads, totals, or moneylines. That’s where props come in: anything from player stats to weird in-game moments.
You might bet on Jalon Daniels to throw for 250+ yards or Leshon Williams to score the first touchdown. You might even bet on who wins the third quarter or whether KU will attempt a fourth-down conversion.
Availability varies depending on your state and the book you’re using. Some states have cracked down on college player props, but DFS-style platforms like PrizePicks still offer ways to bet stat lines under different rules.
Kansas Jayhawks Futures
Dream big or bet small, futures give you both. Betting KU to win the Big 12? A long shot, sure. But stranger things have happened.
You’ll also find season win totals, Heisman odds, and College Football Playoff numbers. Some of these odds open before Week 0 and adjust weekly.
Futures markets move fast, so if you like KU’s chances early, get in before the value disappears. You can compare lines across books with the Action Network app.
