Missouri Tigers Football 2025
After a remarkable 11-2 record in 2023 and a great 10-3 record in 2024, the Missouri Tigers have a lot of hype coming into the 2025 season.
Will this be another year for the record books for this SEC East contender? Head coach Eliah Drinkwitz, who enters his sixth season at Mizzou, certainly has some returning weapons, but had to use the transfer portal for filling in spots too.
That includes quarterback Beau Pribula, a transfer from Penn State who will likely be the starting QB. RB Ahmad Hardy transferred from the University of Louisiana Monroe, where he ran for 1,351 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2024. Receivers Marquis Johnson and Joshua Manning, as well as TE Brett Norfleet, should bring some offensive continuity from 2024.
The Mizzou defense also returns some key components as 7 of the 11 starters are from the 2024 squad. The Missouri Tigers look to compete hard in the SEC in 2025, how far can they go? Let's look at how to bet on them this season.
Missouri Tigers Over/Unders
"Covering the spread" is a reference to a spread bet. It's a wager on how many points a team will win the game by. The idea is to "cover the spread" so that you win your bet.
Here’s how a spread might look for a Tigers game:
- Missouri -9.5 (-110)
- Kentucky +9.5 (-110)
If the Tigers win 34-24, they’re winners "against the spread" (ATS) since they need to win by more than 9.5 points (at least 10 points) to cover the spread and cash spread tickets. Kentucky, on the other hand, can cover the spread with an outright win or with a loss of no more than nine points since Mizzou is spotting them 9.5 points.
The point spread is sometimes set as a whole number such as 10.0. In the above example, if Missouri beats Kentucky by 10 points, all spread bets would push, and bettors would be refunded the original amount of their bet.
Missouri Tigers Over/Unders
Betting on the Tigers' overs was a slightly winning endeavor in 2023. Mizzou finished 7-5 (58.3%) to the over when betting the total, which are bets on the total amount of points scored by both teams in a game.
Oddsmakers set the total at how many points they think will be scored, so it could be 47 for a game against Georgia, for example. If you took the under, a 24-21 final or even a 46-0 final means your bet pays off – no matter who wins the game. If you bet the over for the game, you’d need the teams to combine for at least 48 points scored. Ties on the bet are possible, and they result in refunds for all parties.
Missouri Tigers Moneylines
Moneyline odds take into account how likely a team is to win the game and adjust payouts accordingly. You're betting on which team will win the game straight up – without a point spread. A winning record doesn’t always mean a profit, especially if you're betting on a ton of favorites.
Missouri defeating Vanderbilt as a -300 favorite is fine, but a $30 bet pays out just $10 in profit. If you’re able to catch the Tigers as a +300 underdog, though, a $10 bet on them profits $30. These bets are simplest to understand with $10 or $100 as a unit, but the math is the same regardless of your unit size.
Missouri Tigers Props
Player props are bets on the stats put up by a player for a single game. You could bet on players' rushing or passing stats, for example. You can bet on touchdown scorers. You can even bet on special teams players.
College football also has a lot of game props. Typical game props include total yards by both teams, longest reception of the game, number of penalties, and even if a safety will be scored.
Missouri Tigers Futures
If you think this is Mizzou's year to have it all click, you can look for some big payouts in the futures markets.
Futures are wagers that settle at the end of the season, and besides odds for the team to win the conference, popular futures bets include players' odds to win certain end-of-season awards or over/unders on team wins throughout the year.
Entering the 2025 season, the Tigers are approximately 40-1 (+20000) to win a national title, +8000 to win the SEC, and +820 to make the playoffs.
