The Demon Deacons are off to a rough 0-3 start in ACC play. Wake Forest may be a home favorite for this matchup, but there's one big question mark that could dramatically swing this game.

As for their opposition, the Pitt Panthers are riding high after pulling off a big upset win over the previously undefeated Louisville Cardinals. However, the Panthers still have to establish some cohesiveness with Christian Veilleux now at the helm.

Can the Panthers pull off back-to-back upsets? Let's take a closer look in our Pitt vs Wake Forest Odds, Picks, Predictions.

Pittsburgh Panthers

Pitt pulled off the victory last week, but its offensive success was a credit to three turnovers the defense forced. Veilleux wasn't very sharp and completed just 46% of his passes for 200 yards.

However, he did have success pushing the ball down the field and will need to do so again if the Panthers are going to win this matchup. The Demon Deacons' secondary has been solid in coverage, but it's susceptible to the big play, ranking 105th in yards per pass allowed.

Pitt's offensive success will come down to the offensive line. The Panthers have performed poorly in the run game and will be at a disadvantage in the trenches in this matchup. They're 106th in Sack Rate Allowed but gave up just two last week.

If Veilleux can get time, the Panthers will be able to move the ball this week.

Wake Forest Demon Deacons

The Wake Forest offense is in a tough spot as the Demon Deacons aren't sure who will be playing quarterback. The best-case scenario would be that starting quarterback Mitch Griffis starts.

Griffis has been great, but he's been nursing an injury and had to leave last week's game early. If he can't go, the offense will be in the hands of redshirt sophomore Santino Marucci, who has taken just six collegiate snaps.

Wake Forest is in this predicament because its offensive line has been dreadful. The Demon Deacons are 129th in sack rate allowed, which has led to injuries to their top two quarterbacks.

To make matters worse, Pitt's calling card is its defensive line that ranks 11th in Sack Rate and 18th in Defensive Line Yards.

If Marucci is forced to go, Wake's offense could be very quiet in this one.

Betting Pick & Prediction

There's a lot of uncertainty entering this matchup. We don't really know what to expect from Pitt's offense with Veilleux at the helm and still don't know who will start at quarterback for Wake Forest.

Either way, look for Pitt's defense to set the tone and lead the Panthers to victory for the second week in a row.
