Fireworks are expected for the Big 12 Tournament.

The Big 12 has been the best conference in college basketball all season long, and the tournament is expected to provide some high-caliber matchups.

No. 8 seed West Virginia is set to face No. 9 seed Texas Tech in the Big 12 Tournament.

To put in perspective how good the Big 12 is this season, ESPN's Joe Lunardi currently has West Virginia as a No. 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament despite being a No. 8 seed in its own conference tournament.

West Virginia is 18-13 overall and went 7-11 in the conference. The Mountaineers are ranked 17th in the nation on KenPom in overall efficiency.

Texas Tech will need a conference tournament run to keep its NCAA Tournament hopes alive. The Red Raiders are 16-15 overall and went 5-13 in the Big 12.
