Texas Longhorns
For the past few seasons, we've seen a similar roster construction for the Longhorns. They boast a talented trio of guards and a fundamentally sound frontcourt that's allowed them to generate offense inside the arc.
However, their backcourt will be put to the test here, as the Golden Eagles put a ton of pressure on ball handlers and have limited passes when drivers have penetrated.
The X-factor for the Longhorns' offense has been senior transfer Max Abmas. The former Oral Roberts legend has stepped up in class this season and has had tremendous success. His perimeter shooting will be a key for the Longhorns, as the Golden Eagles are just 165th in 3-point percentage allowed.
However, the determining matchup on the offensive side of the ball will be how big men Kadin Shedrick and Dillon Mitchell contend with Marquette's size. The duo has been incredibly efficient, combining to shoot 65% from the floor.
Oso Ighodaro and David Joplin match up with them perfectly size-wise, so it remains to be seen if they can hang with more experienced bigs.

Marquette Golden Eagles
As I alluded to in the open, Wisconsin was able to knock the Golden Eagles off their game by forcing them into many more half-court sets than we typically see them in.
However, the Golden Eagles should be able to run-and-gun in this one, as the Longhorns are in the middle of the pack in turnover rate and are also likely to keep the tempo high.
Both factors point to the Golden Eagles having success, with Tyler Kolek and Kam Jones pushing the pace while finding holes in the Texas defense. The Longhorns have given up a large majority of their points in the paint.
We should see the Golden Eagles' backcourt look to penetrate and drop off passes to the likes of Ighodaro and others.
However, Texas has yet to face a backcourt duo that's as proficient from deep as Kolek and Jones are, so if Texas goes under too many screens, it'll pay for it.

As it stands, Texas doesn't look to be up to the task, as it's yet to compete with an offense this prolific and high-paced that will put pressure on it to create big runs.
