College Basketball Odds, Pick: FAU vs Wichita State Prediction (Sunday, Feb. 11)

Wichita State and Florida Atlantic are set to meet up for the second time this season.

The first time around, the Owls got the best of the Shockers in Boca Raton on January 18. Wichita State was a sizable road 'dog in that one, but it led for a majority of the game.

With around seven minutes left in the second half, Florida Atlantic took control, and it ended up winning the game by nine points after trailing for over three quarters of the contest. Sadly for the Owls, it wasn't enough to cover the 15-point spread, but it was an impressive comeback.

Here's my FAU vs. Wichita State prediction and college basketball betting pick on Sunday, Feb. 11.

Although FAU has had its ups and downs this season, it still finds itself atop the AAC.

The Owls have wins against then-No. 12 Texas A&M and then-No. 4 Arizona. Those victories are great, but they also have losses to Bryant (at home) and FGCU.

I'm worried about FAU's volatility and how it'll hold up in a back-to-back road spot.

Also, it's playing a team that has nothing to lose and will surely be out for revenge.

It's clear FAU is the better team and will have plenty of avenues to find success, but it's not always that easy in college hoops, especially on the road in conference play.

Wichita State hasn't had a great 2024, as it comes into this game sitting at 2-8 in conference play.

The Shockers lack an athletic, physical guard and rely a tad too much on the deep ball, which hasn't treated them well.

Florida Atlantic is not the team you want to face if you lack an athletic and physical guard, as the Owls have a handful of them who can get to the basket at will.

With that being said, Wichita State will be looking for revenge in this game. It more than held its own in Boca Raton, and, as I mentioned before, Florida Atlantic has been an extremely volatile team.

Wichita State loves to shoot the 3, and it'll be firing this evening. If the Shockers have a hot night, they can beat anyone, especially at home.

Wichita has been playing good basketball of late; it's coming off its second conference win and just narrowly defeated Memphis two games ago.

The Shockers know they can run with the Owls, and I would expect Charles Koch Arena to be rocking, as they don't get many chances to host top-25 teams in the AAC.

I'm not sure the Shockers are live to pull this upset, but I believe they'll keep this game within striking distance.
