Matchup | Edward Cabrera vs. Spencer Strider |
First Pitch | 7:20 p.m. ET |
We venture to Truist Park today to uncover the potential value in a No-Run First Inning (NRFI) bet featuring two National League East rivals — the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves.
Spencer Strider emerged as a dominant NRFI pitcher last season. He boasted an exceptional 21-3 record since 2022, with an 11-1 home NRFI split. Strider has been remarkably effective when facing batters for the first time through the lineup, allowing a mere four hits in 30 at-bats, culminating in a .125 average against these Marlins hitters specifically.
Moreover, Strider has been successful against Jean Segura (0-4), Yuli Gurriel (0-3), Jazz Chisholm (0-1), and Avisail Garcia (0-1). It's worth mentioning that over the past seven days, the Miami Marlins have had the second-worst first-inning hitting offense in baseball, with only two hits in their last 20 plate appearances, resulting in a .105 average.
On the other side of this NRFI equation, we have the Marlins' Edward Cabrera. Since his debut, Cabrera has posted a 14-4 NRFI record, including an impressive 8-1 road NRFI split. Cabrera has likewise been successful against Braves hitters, limiting Sean Murphy (0-3), Ronald Acuña Jr. (0-2), Matt Olson (0-2) and Austin Riley (1-3). In his first encounters with batters this season, Cabrera has allowed only six hits in 29 at-bats, yielding a paltry .207 average.
This NRFI is priced at (-135) on DraftKings Sportsbook.
As always, six outs to glory…
