He holds a 4.90 xERA (15th percentile 🧊), .295 xBA (6th 🧊), get's hit hard (14th in Avg Exit Velo and 12th in Hard-Hit Rate 🧊) and doesn't generate whiffs (10th in Whiff% and 3rd in K-Rate 🧊). Not a good recipe against a really good offense in LAD. Over the last 30 days, LAD ranks 3rd in OPS vs RHP and are tied for 7th in pitches seen per plate appearance. Marquez has been under this mark in 9 of 15 games this season and in 3 of his last 5. He has been over in 3 of 5 at home this season, but now we are getting warmer temps and a very patient team in LAD. He has seen this roster plenty (164 PA's) and has allowed a .365 xwOBA and .514 xSLG to them. A majority of that is when he used to miss more bats too. He has yet to surpass 93 pitches in a start this season and has regularaly seen 85 or fewer pitches in most starts. He's seen fewer than 85 pitches in 7 of his last 9 starts this season. Although he can be efficient at times, this looks like a great matchup for LAD to tee off against a borderline DFA-able pitcher.
