Despite losing their most recent game, Matthew Tkachuk and the Florida Panthers are arguably one of the most exciting teams in hockey right now. The Panthers are 7-2-1 in their past 10 games and it appears Tkachuk cannot be stopped.

The Toronto Maple Leafs haven't been bad, but they certainly haven't looked as good as the Panthers lately. The Leafs have lost three of their past five games, but their spot in the playoffs is essentially solidified.

This will be the second meeting of the season between these teams and if it's anything like the first one, it should be a barn burner.

Toronto Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs have had a phenomenal season and are trying to hang onto the second spot in the Atlantic Division as they sit three points ahead of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

As per usual, Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner are leading the way offensively, especially in the past five games as they have combined for 14 points — Matthews scoring two goals and adding five assists, while Marner has tallied three goals with four assists. As a team, the Leafs are averaging 3.40 goals per game and have scored 11 goals in their past three games.

The Leafs are an offensive juggernaut, but aren't as strong when playing on the road, especially against the Panthers. The Leafs have 7-19 record in their past 26 trips to Florida.

Florida Panthers

The Florida Panthers have climbed the Eastern Conference standings lately and have earned their way into the second wild-card spot, sitting just one point ahead of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Every single game and point matters for this team and they are looking for a strong rebound after dropping their most recent game in Philadelphia.

Tkachuk has been on absolute fire and is being talked about as a potential Hart Trophy winner. In his past five games, he has tallied six goals and six assists. He also leads the team in scoring with 34 goals and 62 assists.

The Panthers are one of the best offensive teams in the league and average 3.49 goals per game (5th in the NHL). They also lead the league in shots per game, generating 37.0 each contest.

Sergei Bobrovsky will be back in goal and is 3-0-1 in his past four starts.

Maple Leafs vs. Panthers Pick

The Florida Panthers are starting to look like the President's Trophy-winning team we saw last season. They have scored 25 goals in their past five games and are certainly going to have a ton of jump in their step. They are 21-10-4 on home ice this season and are 6-1 in their past seven games against divisional opponents.

The Leafs are a very good hockey team, but aren't playing for nearly as much as the Panthers right now. The Leafs are a lock to make the playoffs, while Florida is fighting for every inch.

Tkachuk should certainly make a big impact on this game and help his team get a big win on home ice.
