The Colorado Avalanche have been on absolute fire as they are 7-1-2 in their past 10 games, but the Vegas Golden Knights haven't been too bad themselves as they are 6-1-3 in that same span.
The Avalanche have won five games in row, even without their star defenseman, Cale Makar, who is questionable to play in this contest. Colorado has looked solid defensively and everyone knows what they are capable of when it comes to offense. This should be a very fun battle.
Vegas Golden Knights
The Golden Knights are coming off of a game against Dallas that they lost in a shootout, but they really should have won if it weren't for a mistake in the defensive zone in the final minute that led to a game-tying goal.
Vegas has gone to overtime or a shootout in the past three games and came up short in two of those contests.
Laurent Brossoit has taken over the blue paint for the Golden Knights and has started the past three games. He's put together some strong performances and boasts a .936 save percentage and a 2.20 goals against average.
Vegas has been a very strong defensive team this season, only allowing 2.76 goals against, but its penalty kill has been somewhat weak as it is only successful 79.5% of the time.
Jack Eichel has tallied three goals and two assists in the past five games and Vegas is going to rely on him to carry the offense against a very tough Colorado squad.
Colorado Avalanche
The defending Stanley Cup Champions are completely buzzing right now and a lot of their success is thanks to Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen. Those two have been incredible during this win streak. MacKinnon has scored four goals and tallied six assists, while Rantanen has added four goals and two assists.
Despite the game against Edmonton where Colorado allowed five goals, the Avalanche have been solid defensively during this win streak, allowing just 10 goals in five games.
Alexandar Georgiev is most likely going to get the start and he has won four straight starts. Georgiev has been solid all season, boasting a .920 save percentage and a 2.63 goals against average.
These games are very important for the Avs as they are trying to catch the Dallas Stars for first place in the Central division. Colorado sits just three points back at the moment.
Golden Knights vs. Avalanche Pick
This is going to be a great game as the Avalanche are very hard to beat at Ball Arena, but the Vegas Golden Knights also happen to be one of the best road teams in the NHL.
The goaltenders are somewhat even, so I am looking at the team that has been hotter as of late, the Colorado Avalanche.
Not many teams can keep up with the speed and skill of this team, especially with players like MacKinnon and Rantanen, who appear to be playing their best hockey right now.
I love the Avalanche in this spot and feel they will win this game in regulation.
Pick: Colorado Avalanche Three-Way (+110)
